THE Mayor of Greater Manchester and Stretford and Urmston MP have cut the ribbon to open the site of 60 new homes.

Adactus Housing Group have worked closely with Trafford Council and several other businesses to deliver the £7m development in Warwick Road South, Stretford.

It is comprised of 60 modern apartments, with an equal mix of one and two-bedroom properties that have been let to local people in housing need, all for affordable rent.

As part of its work with Lancashire County Cricket Club, the three blocks have been named after former Lancashire cricketers. They will be called, Eddie Paynter, Johnny Briggs and Roy Tattersall.

The development incorporates numerous energy efficiency features and the design maximises the effective use of space. To reduce over urbanisation, grasscrete has been installed for the parking area along with a ‘living wall’ created across the rear boundary.

Hilary Roberts, Adactus Housing Group chief executive said, “This highly enjoyable event celebrated our successful partnerships in delivering much needed affordable homes in Trafford. Adactus will continue to seek opportunities to provide more affordable homes across Greater Manchester.”

Adactus pride themselves on providing quality new affordable homes. As an approved Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) partner, they are one of the biggest developers in the country. In 2017, the Group delivered 434 new affordable homes and successfully housed over 2,000 people across the local authorities it works in. Looking ahead, the Group’s development strategy aims to provide 2,305 new affordable homes by 2021.
