CHESHIRE children’s charity The Children’s Adventure Farm Trust is to hold its 16th Annual Family Fun Day on Sunday - and IS appealing for the help of the community to make it a huge success.

Each year the charity puts on this free entry event for local families and individuals and they’re hoping to make this year’s event bigger than ever before.

It is being held at the charity's base at Booth Bank Farm, Reddy Lane, Millington WA14 3RE.

Community Fundraiser Rob Bashforth, who is organising the event, said: “Last year’s Family Fun Day raised an amazing £5,000 and had over 1,000 visitors, but we’re finding it increasingly difficult to secure sponsorship for this and our other events.

"If we can secure sponsorship that means even more money will be raised at the event, which means we can help even more children.

"That’s why we’re now appealing for sponsors to come forward to pledge their support. Donations of all sizes will be welcome – anything from £10 to £10,000.

"We hold many amazing fundraising events throughout the year, and this event is great opportunity for our community to come together to celebrate the work we're doing here at the adventure farm.”

This year’s event includES children from Stagecoach Performing Arts in Warrington who will entertain the crowds with a fantastic dance routine, rhythmic Samba drumming from the Batala Mersey Band and nostalgic vehicles from Tameside Classic Cars and Cheshire Vintage Tractors. Mascots from all over the region will be taking part in the charity’s annual mascot race, there’ll also be a tractor tug of war and lots of live music to keep guests entertained.

The charity provides holidays and daytrips to terminally ill, disabled and disadvantaged children from all over the North West every year. Its patrons include comedians John Bishop and Jason Manford, Cold Feet star John Thomson and 70s rock legend Noddy Holder. Each year CAFT must raise £1million, it relies solely on voluntary contributions.

This year’s event will include many attractions such as children’s fairground rides, face painting and balloon modelling and there’ll be the usual collection of fun inflatables, stalls and games.

The free entry event will run from 1pm til 5pm, and the charity are confident in the region of 1,000 visitors will join them on the day.
