DETECTIVES investigating the murder of a dad in Sale have made three arrests. 

At 11.10pm on Thursday 20 July 2017, police were called to Royton Avenue to reports that a man had been stabbed.

Officers attended and found 34-year-old, Mike Grimshaw, with a stab wound to his neck. 

First aid was administered by officers at the scene before he was taken to hospital where he sadly later died. 

A 31-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody for questioning. 

A 54-year-old woman and a 28-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of harbouring an offender but have been released under investigation.

Detective Inspector Andrew Butterworth, of GMP’s Major Incident Team, said: “With intelligence from the public, we have made three arrests, but our investigation continues. 

“I am asking for anyone who witnessed the incident or has information that could help our enquiries, to get in touch.”
