For most it's far too early to start mentioning Christmas but we like to plan ahead, especially when there is a bargain to be had.

The UK is the 6th largest sparkling wine market in the world and with this offer just around the corner, we might just move into Champions League territory.

In time for Christmas, Aldi will have 3L – yes THREE LITRE - bottles of DOCG Prosecco on sale in their supermarkets for £39.99.

These super-sized bottles, otherwise known as a jeroboam, hold the equivalent of almost 24 glasses and will be available in stores and online from 14th November.

Messenger Newspapers:

Prosecco Jeroboam DOCG £39.99, 3 litres (11% ABV)

At 11 per cent ABV the Prosecco comes from Veneto in Italy and has sweet, delicate and dry tasting notes.

Prosecco has been massively popular over the past couple of years and bigger bottles are sure to be a huge hit during the festive season.

Aldi reportedly sold more than two million bottles of Prosecco last year, but these ones might just fly off the shelf.

75cl bottles of Prosecco Superiore DOCG currently sell for £7.99 a bottle.

The supermarket giant currently sells magnums of cheaper brand Belletti Prosecco - 1.5 litres - for £12.99 a bottle.
