ORGANISERS of Altrincham’s Goose Green Summer Festival say they have a fantastic line-up of bands and singers for the August bank holiday weekend of live music and entertainment.

After the success of last year’s festival, which attracted over 4000 people, this year events will take place in three locations across Altrincham town centre.

Both Goose Green and Kings Court will host music and entertainment on August 26 and 27, while The Orange Tree on Old Market Place will have live music and street food throughout the day and into the evening on August 27.

Entry is free of charge at all three events for the festival, which is in its third year.

The Goose Green Summer Festival line-up features 16 bands and singers in total, including The Navettes, Plastic House, The Bright Black and the Jade Assembly on the Saturday and Jess Kemp, Blank Cheque, Courteous Thief and headliners The Rainband on the Sunday.

The fun will then continue into the night with Miami DJ Vinni Soul making his UK debut at the opening of the new Traders Tiki party room, and presenting one lucky winner with two tickets for a trip to Miami Beach.

Alongside the live music stage, cafes and restaurants around Goose Green will be offering a great range of street food and drink, a 'bubble performer' will be wowing adults and children alike with super-sized soapy creations and face painting and glitter art will add to the festival vibe throughout the day.

Katie Bland, BID manager for Altrincham Unlimited, said: “Anyone coming to Altrincham over the past 12 months will have seen that the town has more and more to offer with every visit. This summer there has been a growing sense of confidence in Altrincham, with new shops, cafes and restaurants opening all the time.

“The Goose Green Summer Festival and live music events at Kings Court and The Orange Tree will give local residents and visitors from further afield more great reasons to spend time in Altrincham and discover all it has to offer.”
