URMSTON based Bathroom Takeaway, has donated two bathroom suites to BBC’s television programme, DIY SOS.

The suits will go towards helping Sandra, a grieving mother who lost her daughter, 32-year-old Crystal Chambers to cancer in 2015. Sandra now has to look after Crystal's 9-year-old son, Deago and 3-year-old daughter Ameira in a small, two bedroom, semi detached house in West Bromwich.

51-year-old Sandra and her grandchildren have to share a bedroom, while her 19-year-old son, Ziggy has the other room.

Without hesitation, the Manchester based bathroom company wanted to help, and arranged for a bathroom suite to be delivered to the house, as well as a downstairs toilet and sink.

Mark Fall, Trading Manager at Bathroom Takeaway said: “We are absolutely delighted to be involved in this project and it was great to meet the family at the Big Reveal. The family made a point to come and thank each and every one of the volunteers and suppliers personally which was such a wonderful gesture. Nick and his team were so impressive and to see the whole community rallying together to help this lovely family really was fantastic.”

Nick Knowles and his team at DIY SOS have now transformed Sandra's house into a family home. They have built a two-storey extension to increase the size of Sandra's bedroom, the family bathroom and the kitchen.

Bathroom Takeaway also support the children’s charity Brainwave, that helps children with disabilities and additional needs to achieve greater independence. They also support Key 103’s Cash for Kids, a charity that responds to the needs of children in our communities.
