CALLING all ping-pong prodigies, professionals and talented table tennis players. Stretford Mall now boasts two table tennis tables where visitors to the centre can play - completely free.

Following on from another hugely popular Wimbledon, those wanting to experience the thrill of winning the perfect point can get practising.

There’s no risk of rain stopping play with the tables located in the events space near Pep&Co and Peacocks, meaning those looking to hone their skills can do so, whatever the weather.

“I’m delighted that we’ve got two tables for shoppers to take advantage of, and that they’ve kindly been provided by the Greater Manchester Sports Partnership,” said Stretford Mall centre manager, Gareth Wilkins.

“We’re always on the lookout for fun and interesting events and activities for shoppers to enjoy as part of their visit to Stretford Mall, so when the opportunity to have the tables in the centre came up, we jumped at the chance.

“Table tennis is a fantastic way for people to get active and improve their hand-eye coordination. With the country gripped with tennis fever we’re expecting our tables to prove extremely popular with people of all ages. You never know, we might have the next champion in our midst.”

The two table tennis tables will be located in the events space near Pep&Co and Peackocks every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday for the next few weeks. The table tennis bats and balls will be held with centre security at the centre management offices near to the Fragrance Shop for those wishing to use the tables. Access to the equipment and tables is completely free and play will take place during the centre’s normal weekday opening hours.
