TIMPERLEY’s first XI turned their fortunes round on Saturday by beating Cheshire County Cricket League Premier Division leaders Chester Boughton Hall.

Chester were asked to bat and struggled to 90 all out on a wicket that offered a bit to the bowler.

Jack Williams batted well for a rapid 23 off 26 balls to lift the score late on, with Chris Page proving most incisive with the ball with figures of 5-19.

In reply, Timperley batted positively to secure their victory in 25.2 overs, Nathan Brown and Rudi Brenner inching the team to victory with a match-winning sixth-wicket partnership of 37 after the middle order had stuttered, Warren Goodwin 3-21 the pick of the bowlers.

The second XI fixture did not go well for Timperley with Chester winning by 144 runs.

Chester reached 245-9 with George Metcalf scoring 59 at number seven, Ritvik Muthuswamy taking 2-50.

On a good wicket, Chester bowled well and dismissed Timperley for 101, Santhosh Rajasekeran top scoring with 20.

The third XI fixture against Didsbury also resulted in a defeat for Timperley.

Batting first Timperley reached 166 all out, with skipper Martin Porthouse again leading the line with a fluent 69 as opener. Albert Marcano provided valuable support with 43 in the middle order.

Didsbury reached their target in 40 overs courtesy of solid knocks from Ben Wright (31), Rob Doyle (36 not out) and Bahaduri (30). Nasar Ali was the pick of the Timperley bowlers with 3-29.

The fourths hosted Pott Shrigley and drew. They scored 229-8, with Girish Huzurbazar scoring 81.

Josh Hughes (39), Sanchit Shukla (27) and Satyajit Velasker (58) played well in the middle order to build the total as Mark Ash took 5-63.

In reply, Pott Shrigley reached 89-7 in their allocated 45 overs, Shukla taking 2-25.

On Sunday, the fifth XI played Ashton-on-Mersey and won.

Batting first, Ashton scored for 134 all out with Rob Brazendale top scoring with 41, Will Cross 4-27.

In reply, Timperley got home with four wickets to spare – Ben Ralph scoring 41not, while Steve Faulkner took 2-32.
