PRODUCTS bound for waste tips provided craft materials for youngsters attending a weekend picnic in Old Trafford.

The event in Centenary Gardens, was to help focus minds on the waste of paper and other materials, which form part of the takeaway coffee cup revolution.

On Saturday, the first recycled products to be made from 30,000 used coffee cups collected on a Manchester's Oxford Road were unveiled and included bird feeders and plant pot holders

The collection was part of a #1MoreShot initiative spearheaded by environmental charity Hubbub in partnership with Manchester City Council, Groundwork MSSTT and recycling company Simply Cups which in turn were donated to the Love Old Trafford Community Group and the Old Trafford Wonder Women WI.

The picnic was held at the gardens and also at Seymour Park Primary School field, Northumberland Road and included live music, dance, food, play and craft activities for families.
