A CANCER stricken Timperley mum who made a plea for Messenger readers to back an appeal to enable her to have specialist treatment has died.
Mother-of-two Alison Rolfe, aged 51, died on July 13, after battling a rare form of bowel cancer.
Her plight touched the hearts of Messenger readers and the appeal for her to have treatment at a specialist centre in Hallwangen, Germany raised £28,600.
Unfortunately, her condition deteriorated to the point that she was unable to travel to receive the specialist treatment that she had desperately wanted.
Her daughter, Chelsea, aged 21, said: "After a long and hard battle with cancer my mum passed away on July 13.
" I take great pride in saying that I was able to hold her hand through it. My mum truly is an inspiration and a massive role model to me.
"She has taught me to keep fighting no matter what life may throw at me and to always look at the brighter side."
Alison, a sales administrator, was married to Darren, 51, and the couple also have a son, Liam, 25.
Her funeral will be held at 3.30pm on August 3 at Altrincham Crematorium, followed by a wake at Bowdon Rugby Club. Everyone is welcome and mourners are asked to wear colourful outfits to reflect Alison's personality.
Chelsea added: "My mum was such a pure soul that touched many people's hearts in so many different ways. Her funeral will be a true representation of her personality - colourful, fun, vibrant.
"We want everyone to remember my mum as the happy, fun and loving woman she was. She will forever be in our hearts and memories. Rest in peace mum I love you.".
