FOLLOWING last year’s smash hit, the world famous Elvis show starring Chris Connor, returns to Bowlers arena, Old Trafford on Saturday, July 22 at 7.30.

You won’t know its not Elvis when the 38-year-old white costumed former bricklayer, swings his hips seductively and sings Suspicious Minds, Blue Suede Shoes, and other songs.

Chris said: “To make it more interesting, there’ll be a few obscure numbers, too.

“A huge screen behind me will show montages of Elvis and there’ll be fantastic lighting which recreates the 70s with a modern touch.”

Three years ago Chris was voted best Elvis performer worldwide by an international internet panel of fans.

“I don’t enter competitions and then they did this one and my name came to the top.

“It was so exciting. I met Elvis’s best friend and he said lots of nice things.

“It acknowledged the hard work that my wife Lisa and I had put in.”

He first got hooked on the King after discovering his dad’s records in the loft when he was nine.

Although he sang for his work mates in the building trade, it wasn’t until he saw an impersonator in America nine years ago that he knew what he wanted to do.

“His voice is difficult to copy and you also have to have his humour. He made the audience laugh.”

He is used to appearing before thousands, the largest concert being before 10,000 in Holland.

“The audiences are the same all over the world. Everyone wants to dance,” he said.

And that will be true of Bowlers, too.
