A VIGIL is to be held at Trafford Town Hall for everyone affected by the horrific terror attack at the Manchester Arena.

The vigil, for families, friends, staff, partners and all will be held on Monday, May 29 at 4pm in the Sunken Gardens at Trafford Town Hall, Talbot Road, Stretford.

A number of approaches have been made to Trafford Council and its partners to host vigils and the Council and GMP feels  that one event  for people to attend will bring the community together.

The event is open to everyone, whether you live in Trafford or not. The short event will consist of messages from local leaders and the young people of our borough.

Guests are also advised that there is no parking available on site, however the town hall is fully accessible via public transport and is opposite The Old Trafford Metrolink station.

the council said that The council said that as we are at ‘Critical’ level nationally and with the major events taking place in our city and Trafford this weekend, holding mass gatherings will only increase pressure on police resources and it advises against the organisation of these events.

Those who attend are also discouraged from bringing flowers and candles and are asked to donate to the Red Cross Recovery Fund instead at: www.redcross.org.uk/en/Donate-Now/Make-a-single-donation/Manchester-Emergency-Fund
