DOG lovers in Altrincham are being invited to what hopes to be the town’s biggest ever walk to raise money for the Children’s Adventure Farm Trust.

Rob Benson, who runs pet stall B and V Trading in the Altrincham Market, has teamed up with his trader colleagues to raise money for the charity.

CAFT, which is based at Booth Bank Farm, provides activities and holidays for disabled, terminally ill and disadvantaged children and their families across the North West.

The Mooch With Ya Pooch event will take place on Sunday May 21, with walkers meeting at 10.30am before the walk starts at 11am at John Leigh Park. Entry is £10 and all proceeds go to CAFT.

Rob said: “The Children’s Adventure Farm Trust does such an important job for children and their families in the North West and we wanted to do something to help.

“I meet so many dog walkers at the market and we thought a sponsored dog walk would be something for all the family to enjoy and raise money for this fantastic cause.

“My colleagues at Alty Market loved the idea when I told them and pledged their support too, so we want Mooch With Your Pooch to be the biggest dog walk ever in Altrincham."

Walkers can choose from three different routes and each one finishes at Altrincham Market House, between 11.30am and 12.30pm.

Every pet will get a doggy bag filled with treats, a “Canines for CAFT” balloon and a “Well Done” rosette, plus entry for one dog to the dog show, which takes part from 1.30pm.

Jure Modic from CAFT said: “We’re absolutely delighted about Mooch With Ya Pooch, it promises to be a fantastic event.

"This will be a real community effort and we’re so grateful to everyone involved in putting it all together, especially Rob and everyone at Altrincham Market who have worked so hard to make it all possible.

"The money raised will help us to provide life-changing holidays here at the Adventure Farm for terminally ill, disabled and disadvantaged children from our region.

"We really can’t thank everyone enough for their support, together we can make a real difference in the lives of these very special children.”
