HAND on Heart, an innovative charity which has already placed over 1,000 defibrillator packages in schools and communities, is going from strength to strength.

Now in its 6th year, it has welcomed a new Chief Executive to the team.

David Howarth, founder and chairman of the charity, said “I am delighted to welcome Sue Martin on board. Sue brings with her a wealth of management experience within the voluntary sector, passion, commitment and professionalism.

"The board are excited to have Sue lead our team to help us realise our ambition of becoming a national children's charity and protecting as many children as possible from sudden cardiac arrest."

Sue, who is currently working with the team to promote and host the UK Heart Safe Awards 2017 said: “I feel very privileged to be able to lead Hand on Heart into the future. Twelve young people die each week from Sudden Cardiac Arrest in UK. Hand on Heart have shown amazing progress in keeping children safer in schools through life support training and providing defibrillators. It is important that we are able to continue to grow and reach further.”
