I WAS pleased to read the article about car park price increases in Altrincham.
Altrincham is currently vibrant and a great place to visit. The changes over the years have been extremely positive and I believe part of this was down to the reasonable parking charges which encouraged you to visit Altrincham.
I was appalled at the price increase when we recently visited Altrincham feeling that it was another money grabbing scheme by the council off the back of an extremely positive regeneration of a town centre.
I do believe that this increase will make people think about going into the town centre which will only have a negative effect on the town.
Why change the prices? It was affordable and reasonable to park but now it feels like a rip off.
The parking charges encouraged people to visit but now it will only discourage people.
Nothing more than greed shown by the council, very disappointing.
