BUSINESSMAN Ged Murray took to the decks to deliver an evening of soul and motown classics — and achieved one of his lifetime dreams.

Family man Ged is the managing director of Insure Risk Ltd, based in Atlantic Business Centre in Altrincham. He’s also one of the founding partners in Start-Up Business Services, a group of Altrincham business owners who provide free training and advice to new and growing local businesses.

But on Friday night he was able to firmly place a massive tick next to one of the big items on his bucket list of lifetime dreams and goals, namely to be a DJ for an evening at The Con Club, Altrincham.

Ged was thrilled when he was invited to host a club evening, dedicated to his favourite music from the 1970s and 80s.

He raided his huge vinyl collection and put together an extensive play list of tracks ranging from Earth, Wind and Fire to the Bluetones, from disco to nostalgia, thus ensuring there was something for everyone.

Supported by his wife, Sheelagh, family, friends and The Con Club clientele, Ged played through the entire evening, regularly filling the dance floor, until the bar closed and the lights came on.

His face must have ached the next day as he never once stopped smiling!
