VOTERS will go to the polls on May 4 to elect the first ever Mayor of Greater Manchester.

In addition voters in the Broadheath council ward will elect a councillor after one of its councillors, Louise Dagnall , stood down.

There are eight candidates for Greater Manchester mayor. They are: Sean Anstee, Conservative; Mohammad Aslam, Independent; Jane Brophy, Liberal Democrats; Andy Burnham, Labour; Marcus Jonathan Farmer, Independent; Stephen Morris, English Democrats; Shneur Zalman Odze, UKIP; Will Paterson, Green Party.

There are six candidates in the Broadheath ward election. They are: Mike Bayley-Sanderson, UK Independence Party; Stephen John Farndon, Independent; Simon Latham, Liberal Democrats; Dave Morgan, Conservative; Joe Ryan, Green Party; Amy Marie Whyte, Labour.
