A WOMAN has died after a fire in Sale.
Emergency services were called to a property on Hayling Road in Sale shortly after 2.50pm on Monday March 20, to a report of a fire.
Following a search by firefighters, the body of a 64-year-old woman was discovered inside the property. Formal identification is yet to take place.
A joint investigation with Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service has been launched to establish the cause of the fire.
Detective Chief Inspector Paul Parker of GMP’s Trafford borough, said: “This is a tragic incident in which a woman has died and my thoughts are with her family at this time."
