TWO teenagers have been arrested after a gunpoint robbery at a shop.

At around 6.15pm on Saturday, January 21, police were called to the shop on Irlam Road, Flixton, to reports of an armed robbery.

A masked man stormed into the shop and pointed a handgun at a staff member's face, before demanding cash and cigarettes and fleeing the scene towards Kenilworth Road on foot.

Officers launched an investigation and following the release of CCTV, a youth presented himself at Stretford Police Station.

Two youths, aged 16 and 17, were arrested on suspicion of robbery and have been bailed pending further enquiries.

Detective Constable Simon Johnson, of GMP’s Trafford Borough, said: “Thanks to the response from the CCTV, we have been able to move forward with our investigation.

“Our enquiries are still ongoing so if anyone is holding any information that would help us, please get in touch.”
