THE worlds most modern airliner, the Airbus A350-900, has commenced flying from Manchester with Singapore Airlines.
The latest aircraft from Airbus is cleaner, quieter and more fuel efficient than ever.
The aircraft is made from polymer and carbon with aluminium and titanium alloys which makes it lighter and more fuel efficient .
The wings are made by BAe in Broughton North Wales and the engines from Rolls Royce.
Singapore Airlines operates five times weekly non -stop from Manchester to both Singapore with onward connections to Australia and New Zealand, as well as direct to Houston Texas.
Manchester Airport is the only one outside of London from where the new aircraft flies.
The aircraft is proving popular with passengers. It has a business class cabin, new premium economy seats as well as economy and of course the famous Singapore Girl service.
Ken Garrity Altrincham travel agent, said: ”I think this will be a winner with passengers giving them a quieter ride and also direct flights from Manchester without changing. I have sent passengers already on this aircraft and have had positive feed back.”
