The main speaker was Janet Hiles from Mercy Ships, who has been working on Mercy Ships for four years and gave a very informative talk on the help Mercy Ships give. These ships give medical aid to underprivileged people, mainly in West Africa. They moor a ship with doctors, dentists, clinicians to help perform vital operations and medical assistance to people who have no hospitals, nor the funds for medical help which would normally have to be paid for .

After a four course meal money was raised by donations, a raffle and an auction for a luxury hamper.

The evening raised more than £1500.
