THE family of Harry Sievey, son of the late Frank Sidebottom creator, who died after a crash in Withington have paid tribute to their “happy-go-lucky” son and brother.

Harry Sievey, 24, died after his bike was hit by a car in Mauldeth Road, Withington, shortly before 10.15pm on Sunday February 12.

Another cyclist, who was also knocked down by the car, was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

An investigation was launched by the Serious Collision Investigation Unit and a 61-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He has been bailed until March 27.

In tribute to Harry, his family said: “There are no words for another tragic and sad loss to our family.

“Our little brother and loving son Harry was always happy-go-lucky. We are heart broken, taken from us before his time."

They added: “We ask for our privacy at this time why we come to terms with our loss.”

Officers continue to appeal for witnesses and urge anyone with any information to contact police.
