THE Trafford Centre is to become home to two new brands - naturally fast food chain LEON and Pakistani fashion retailer Khaadi.

LEON’s 1,940 sq ft restaurant on intu Trafford Centre’s Regent Crescent will also be one of its first outside of the south east, where it has already more than 40 stores.

Khaadi, which operates more than 54 stores worldwide, specialises in hand woven loose fabrics, children’s clothing and traditional Pakistani accessories and has taken 2,283 sq ft for its sixth UK store at intu Trafford Centre.

Colin Flinn, regional director at intu, said: “We’re introducing LEON and Khaadi to intu Trafford Centre’s affluent shoppers from across the north west as part our work to support their ambitious expansion strategies at intu centres across the country.

“Placing LEON’s fun, fast and fresh offering at the heart of intu Trafford Centre’s Regent Crescent further extends the centre’s catering offer into the main malls, complementing what's on offer within The Orient whilst providing our customers with something new and exciting.”

LEON was launched in 2004 with an objective of being a healthy fast food joint. The brand has grown significantly over the past ten years, with almost 40 restaurants, primarily located in the South East, and a raft of successful cook books.

Diners can expect dishes such as kale and peanut salad, chicken “superclean” quinoa salad, sweet potato falafel hotbox and grilled halloumi wraps.

Adam Blaker, director of property at LEON said: “We’ve been overwhelmed with requests to open in Manchester so we’re delighted to make those dreams come true. At LEON we like to be there for people when and where they need us, so we’ll be there from early to late for hungry shoppers at intu Trafford Centre.”

Khaadi is regarded as the one of the best fashion brands in Pakistan.

It has built more than 40 stores in Pakistan, as well as stores in United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Canada, Mexico, America, Australia, Malaysia and the UK since being launched in 1999.

Its British stores can be found at The Bullring Birmingham, Highcross Leicester, Westfield Stratford, Westfield London and Westfield Bradford.

The international fashion, home and accessory retailer has plans to acquire 20 stores in the top UK markets and shopping centres.

Eloise Berry at Khaadi said: “We decided intu Trafford Centre was the place for us as it offers the full shopping experience with amazing fashion, food outlets and leisure activities.”

Luxury handbag maker Radley is upsizing its successful store at the centre with the opening of a new 876 sq ft shop.
