AN Altrincham CEO will be joining Greater Manchester’s Police Chief Constable Ian Hopkins and CEO of UK Fast Lawrence Jones MBE as the newest board member on the Cash For Kids Executive Board.

Managing director of Trafford-based Bathroom Takeaway, Julian Smith, from Altrincham, has been appointed a new board member of the Key 103 charity.

Julian, who set up Bathroom Takeaway back in 2010, has shown “overwhelming support” for Cash For Kids over the past two years, opening up their impressive 20 metre high distribution centre in Trafford to be Key 103’s Mission Christmas HQ, the largest Toy Appeal in the UK.

Bathroom Takeaway’s headquarters are next to Event City and the Trafford Centre.

The Local Executive Board’s role is to consider each grant application individually to ensure children up to the age of 18, who are living in poverty in Greater Manchester receive the required funds.

Julian said: “I was delighted to be asked to join the board and it really is an honour to be part of such a fantastic children’s charity. As a company, we take great pride in giving back to our local community and it really has been our privilege to be the home for Mission Christmas HQ for the past two years.

“We’ve also enjoyed supporting the Time to Shine Awards, Superhero Day as well as taking part in a DIY SOS style bathroom makeover for a young carer in Urmston. I’m a firm believer that charity doesn’t just start at home but it starts in Manchester and we will continue to show our support in any way we can.”

Cash for Kids is the official charity of Key103 and provides a helping hand to disabled and disadvantaged children across Greater Manchester. Each year they hope to have thousands of pounds available for grants to children’s charities, individuals and many other causes throughout the North West.

All the money is raised locally and spent locally, going to children and young people under 18 throughout the region, with mental, physical or sensory disabilities, with behavioural or psychological disorders, living in poverty or situations of deprivation, suffering through distress, abuse or neglect.

Russell Feingold, charity manager at Key 103’s Cash For Kids, said: “We are so grateful to Bathroom Takeaway for their generosity and enthusiasm towards the charity over the last couple of years. We are thrilled to have Julian on the board and are confident he will have a great impact in helping us change the lives of children in our region.”
