McAuliffe has teamed up with Olympic gold medalist, Darren Campbell MBE, to support Altrincham Grammar School for Girls’ (AGGS) rising hockey stars.

The Hale-based brownfield specialist and the world-renowned sprinter’s company, PAS-Nutrition, have sponsored a new international touring kit for the AGGS team, which is due to compete in hockey matches in Barcelona this April.

McAuliffe managing director, John McAuliffe, and Sale-born Darren Campbell decided to show their support for the AGGS team after meeting at the recording of Campbell’s BBC Radio 5 Live ‘Get Inspired’ show, where he interviewed Rio gold medalist Sam Quek.

Campbell’s business, PAS-Nutrition, provides sports nutrition products to professional athletes, football clubs and rugby clubs. Clients on the company’s roster, include Leicester City Football Club, the Welsh national football team and the Welsh national rugby team.

McAuliffe has already sponsored Bowdon Hockey Club, Sale Sharks and St Brendan’s Gaelic Football Club over the past year, as part of a company-wide commitment to backing regional sport.

John McAuliffe said: “Darren Campbell is one of Britain’s sporting greats, and it’s an absolute pleasure to join forces with PAS-Nutrition to back rising local talent. We wish the team every success in Barcelona!”

Darren Campbell MBE, co-founder of PAS-Nutrition, said: “It’s great to have the opportunity to give something back to my local community, helping AGGS provide exciting opportunities for students that inspire them to take up competitive sport.”

Judith Finch, Head of PE at Altrincham Grammar School for Girls, said: “We’re extremely grateful to McAuliffe and Darren for sponsoring the new kits. Competing in Barcelona will be a fantastic opportunity for the team to test their skills and learn more about Spanish culture.”
