ALTRINCHAM animation company Factory is back in the studio working on a new series of the revamped children’s show The Clangers.
Factory, based in Altrincham Business Park, said they are “delighted” to announce that the Clangers Series 2 is now in production.
The cult classic originally ran between 1969 and 1974 and follows the adventures of a lovable family of alien creatures.
It relaunched in 2015, with the team from Factory leading the project, and despite a 46 year hiatus, the show was received well and won critical acclaim.
The new version stays true to the animation techniques used by creators Oliver Postgate and Peter Firmin but also makes use of 21st century technology and a bigger production team.
The 26 x 11 minute episodes will once again be narrated by Michael Palin and aired later this year on CBeebies.
Clangers has won numerous awards including the 2015 BAFTA for Best Pre-School Animation and Broadcast Best Pre-School Programme.
