CELEBRITY Judge Rinder showed pupils in Altrincham the courtroom ropes as he took part in a mock trial earlier this week.

The TV judge, who competed in the 2016 series of BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing, visited Forest Preparatory School, in Moss Lane, on Monday January 16.

The ITV reality star took part in a mock trial with Year 3 students, to show them how the legal system works.

Graeme Booth, Forest Preparatory School deputy headteacher, said, “As part of their PSHE (Personal, Social and Health Education) lessons, Year 3 have been learning that we are a democracy and everyone has rights as citizens of the UK.”

The visit was organised by the school’s Year 3 class teacher, Mrs Eley, who presented Judge Rinder with a ‘scenario’ based on a consumer purchasing a faulty electrical product.

“We were delighted that Judge Rinder could take time out of his busy schedule to visit us and teach the children more about the legal justice system,” she said.

“After the mock trial, he took part in a question and answer session and was very impressed with the children.”

Robert Rinder is a criminal barrister who shot to fame with daytime reality court show Judge Rinder in 2014. In his show, he oversees a variety of civil cases, such as disputes over basic consumer issues, business, personal, and neighbourhood disputes, and allegations of negligence.

Mrs Eley added: “We wish Judge Rinder all the best in his future career and on behalf of all the staff and pupils would like to thank him for coming in.”
