POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a trio of masked robbers targeted a shop in Sale.

Three men wearing balaclavas burst into the McColl's shop on Framingham Road at 8.30pm on Monday 12 December 2016.

They threatened the ‘terrified’ staff and smashed bottles before forcing them to open the safe. They filled a bedsheet with cash and cigarettes and then all three fled the shop.

Police are now looking for people who may have information about the incident or remembers witnessing unusual behaviour in the area at the time to come forward.

The first man is described as being white, in in his late teens or early 20s, 6ft tall, of slim build, and wearing a red bubble jacket, light blue jeans, a blue hoody and a face covering.

The second man in his late teens/early 20s, of slim build and wearing a black hooded jacket.

The third is in his late teens/early 20s and was wearing a dark hooded bubble jacket with green large design label to the chest area, and carrying a duvet.

Detective Constable Paul Walls of GMP’s Trafford Borough said: “These men terrified staff as they pushed them about and smashed bottles of alcohol in the process.

“I am keen to speak to any witnesses who saw the trio in the area at this time, or anyone who has information about who may be behind the robbery.”
