RESIDENTS are being warned about a gang of fraudsters purporting to be connected to Trafford Council and working with the probation service are operating in the borough – selling cleaning products.
Trafford Trading Standards have received reports about a gang of men selling cleaning products door to door.
The cleaning products are over-priced and the men have pressurised residents into paying huge amounts for goods they didn't need.
Trafford Trading Standards urged: “Please be aware that the men may carry ID claiming that they are associated with Trafford Council, or may tell you that they are working with the Probation Service. This is not true.
“Please keep an eye on elderly or vulnerable friends, relatives and neighbours. Report suspicious callers to GMP on 101 or in an emergency call 999.”
