POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a burglary and attempted burglar took place on neighbouring roads in Altrincham on Friday.
Officers received a report of a house being targeted by burglars in Hale Road at around 6.10pm on Friday December 2.
The thieves broke into the house by damaging the kitchen door and they fled after stealing electrical items from inside.
Some hours earlier, would-be intruders attempted to break into a house in Hill Top, at around 3.30pm.
They tried to smash the kitchen window to get into the property but failed.
Police are asking anyone who witnesses suspicious behaviour in the area to get in touch.
A spokesperson said: “The offender may have been seen climbing over the front gate or fence and running through busy school traffic.”
It is not known if the two incidents are linked.
