URMSTON IT business Bitsol Systems IS revving up for a busy weekend – after being contracted to provide support for this Sunday’s United States Formula 1 Grand Prix.

The company will play an essential part in the success of the race by ensuring a network of 48 track management cameras they have installed are working faultlessly throughout the two-day event.

Located at key points around the 3.4 mile Circuit of The Americas track, in Austin Texas, the devices must deliver crystal clear images to Race Control as well to racing teams such as Williams, Maclaren and Mercedes.

They are critical for spotting potential problems, responding to crashes and monitoring performance.

Greg Buchanan, Bitsol’s Managing Director, said: “This will be the third year we have worked with the teams in Texas and we are proud to be doing so again.

“We are proud that a Manchester company is playing such a key role in providing support to such a high profile international event.”

Bitsol, based in Urmston, were initially contracted to create a bespoke monitoring set-up for the race track.

The high definition cameras and IT support system monitor every turn and are essential for safety. They will be used for qualifying this Saturday and for the Grand Prix on Sunday.

Formed in 2012, by ex-Royal Navy submariner Greg Buchanan, Bitsol Systems, provide IT support for a wide range of different sized businesses across the UK.

The company also specialise in providing security-cleared personnel for work on sensitive projects.
