A discount shop is selling vibrators to shoppers for just £1 in Sale – and customers are going mad for them.

The budget gadget - named the vibrating bullet - is on sale at Poundland, The Square Shopping Centre.

The discovery is causing a real buzz online with quips and jokes doing the rounds on social media.

Stunned Sasha wrote on Twitter: "Today I saw a 'vibrating bullet' in poundland, now I really have seen it all".

And since news of the budget bullet broke, customers have been flocking to get their hands on one. One Sale employee said customers have been ‘going mad’ for them and that a box of the bullets sold out in a single day.

On its website, Poundland states it caters for 'Food & drink, kids parties & much more'.

A similar item in high street sex shop Ann Summers - the RO 80 Pastel Pink Bullet Vibrator - currently costs £8.

Poundland originally launched the bullet at some stores in August 2013 and recently expanded their range to be stocked in more of the outlets.

It even featured on TV earlier this year when it was shown on Channel 4’s controversial show Sex Box.

A Poundland spokesperson said: “Alongside the bullet the range also includes various lubricants and three pack Durex and Sure 12 pack condoms, all at its famous £1 price point.

"Poundland is a responsible retailer and encourages safe sex.”
