STRETFORD and Urmston MP Kate Green is reaching out to businesses following the vote for the UK to leave the EU.

The MP wants to open up a dialogue with businesses in the constituency who may have concerns about the implications of the UK's exit from the EU.

She is inviting firms in the area to join a panel so she can keep them informed about the exit negotiations and receive feedback on issues that need to be raised in parliament.

Ms Green has recently been appointed a member of the Parliamentary European Scrutiny Committee, so will be focusing on the EU exit arrangements when Parliament returns in September.

A number of business leaders in Trafford have already agreed to be part of Kate's panel, and she wants to invite others to take part.

She said: “Since the vote to leave the EU there's been very little information about how the government intends to negotiate exit arrangements, or what deals it will be seeking.

"I know that this could make local businesses and their employees fearful about their futures– they want stability, not uncertainty at this time.

“Companies in Trafford are vital in generating jobs and growth for our area and that’s why my priority now is making sure that I reflect their views and concerns in Parliament as the negotiations take place.

“That’s why I’m setting up a panel to hear from local businesses about what they’d like to see from the negotiation process. This would mainly be a space for businesses to feed in ideas and concerns to me online, and for me to keep them update with what's being debated in Parliament, but I’d be happy to come along to or arrange meetings with business leaders and their employees too.

“Please get in touch if you’d like to know more.”

If you’re a local business and would like to join Kate’s panel to let her know your priorities following the EU referendum, or would like more information then e-mail kate.green.mp@parliament.uk or phone 0161 749 9120.
