SINGING sisters from Altrincham failed to hit the right notes as far as the Dragons were concerned, when they entered their Den on the BBC-2 programme.

Claire and Tina O’Brien, who run children’s choir Little Belters, featured in Dragons’ Den on Sunday.

They were asking for a £45,000 investment fro a 15 per cent stake, to help expand their company from its current seven groups to 100 choirs.

The duo teach children aged five to 11 to sing in a group setting. They started Little Belters in Altrincham in 2011.

Their appearance got off to a flying start, when some of their Little Belters performed for the Dragons, and Claire and Tina then gave the Dragons an impromptu singing lesson.

But then things started to go downhill as the tough business magnates - Deborah Meaden, Peter Jones, Nick Jenkins, Sarah Willingham and Touker Suleyman - examined their business case.

And each one declined to invest in the choir venture.

As they came out of the Den, Tina said: "That was harsh."

And Claire joked: "What we have always got over the Dragons, is their singing was dreadful."

Tina studied at the Royal Northern College of Music before joining Glyndebourne as a trained opera singer, performing at the Last Night of the Proms. Claire studied music at Hull University and then sang across the UK, Europe and the USA with highly respected chamber choir, the Joyful Company of Singers.
