CELEBRATING its fifth year, Flixton Festival will be hosted on the lawns of Flixton Cricket and Sports Club, Lawrence Road, on Sunday, August 28.

A feel good garden party festival for children and grown ups alike, the event embraces the boutique festival feel with a selection of homegrown musical talent and DJs, artisan stalls, fresh food, face painting and a range of activities for all ages.

Cricket club president Alan Embleton said “We were so pleased that over 1000 people came throughout the day to last year’s festival and showed their support for this fantastic community event. This year we’ve got more live music, more DJs, more entertainment, more rides, more slides, more food, more bars, more stalls, more fun and more memories to be made.

"Our nominated charity is Stretford Food Bank so we will be raising money and encouraging food donations on the day.

"The Macmillan Wellbeing Centre Trafford and the RSPB will be attending along with Urmston Allotment and Gardening Society who will be celebrating 100 years, so please come along.

"We would like to thank oxygen freejumping for the generous prize we will be raffling on the day, and to Cara Construction who are kindly sponsoring the festival, helping to make the event even bigger and better.”

Tickets are £5 each (and children under age 5 are free) and doors open at 12noon. Tickets are available now online via Skiddle or alternatively from Flixton Cricket and Sports Club, The Steamhouse Pub (Urmston) or One Twenty Two Café (Flixton).
