ALDI is opening its new store in Stretford Mall on Thursday, June 30 at 8am, with a ribbon cutting ceremony involving store manager Leroy Bradley.

To celebrate the opening, Aldi invited schools to take part in a competition to design a poster celebrating summer at Aldi Stretford. The winning poster and artist will be revealed in the store on the morning of the opening.

Aldi will be sponsoring the Stretford Victoria Football Club’s U9-U14s boys and girls teams for two years.

The store also recently donated a variety of food products including sandwiches, wraps, sausage rolls, pork pies and crisps to Stretford Mall’s Queen’s birthday party, which was held on June 10.

The 1,140 square metre store has more than 800 shared car parking spaces, and there is free parking for up to three hours when visiting the centre.

The store has created 30 jobs.

Stretford Mall centre manager, Gareth Wilkins, said: “We’ve been working hard to develop the space required for such a large and popular supermarket like Aldi.

“I’m pleased that following the recent arrival of a range of new stores, with more set to come, we’re able to continue to offer a diverse range of retail and services for Stretford shoppers to enjoy. With the investment in the centre’s market hall, new stores opening regularly and the recent introduction of three hours’ free parking, it’s a really exciting time for the centre.

“I’d like to thank Aldi for providing the food for our recent ‘Royal Tea Party’, which was a great way to begin our partnership."
