PREPARATIONS are well underway for the nation’s biggest ever-indoor summer parade, taking over intu Trafford Centre and bringing Rio’s carnival atmosphere to the mall for its annual Everyone’s Invited event.

Taking place on July 2 and 3, the stunning parade will see more than 60 talented performers create an unforgettable carnival atmosphere in the centre for the first parade in intu Trafford’s Centre’s 18-year history, celebrating Everyone’s Invited.

Melody Group, an eight strong troupe of horn musicians, drummers, themed floral flower dancers and skilled soloist performers are just some of the acts that will be spinning, waltzing and bouncing their way through the centre.

There will also be a variety of mesmeric and immersive theatrical walkabouts weaving their way through the centre and towards the Main Dome such as glorious, giant dragonflies, huge, enchanting sunbirds and a kaleidoscope of beautiful butterflies.

The vibrant parade, taking place on Saturday at 11.30am, 1pm, 2.30pm and 4pm and at 12pm, 2pm and 4pm on Sunday, will be brought together for a fabulous finale in the Main Dome with the help of a ringmaster.

Visitors to intu Trafford Centre can follow the parade and are encouraged to create their own flamboyant headdress before strutting their stuff with the performers. The free children’s headdress-making workshop will be open from 10am to 4pm on Saturday and 11am until 4pm on Sunday.

Richard Paxton, General Manager at intu Trafford Centre, says: “Nothing celebrates summer quite like a bright, loud, exciting and energetic parade. We’re going to be bringing the carnival atmosphere to intu Trafford Centre. From drummers to horn musicians, puppets to dancers, the centre will be brimming with atmosphere, colour and excitement as we celebrate our Everyone’s Invited weekend.”
