CENTRAL Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (CMFT) is to take the lead in the establishment and delivery of a Greater Manchester wide NHS Careers Hub.

Funded by Health Education North West and delivered in partnership with other NHS Trusts in Greater Manchester, the University of Manchester and a wide variety of stakeholders, the Hub will provide a unique opportunity for residents, schools, colleges, education and training providers and employment support organisations to find out more about the educational and employment opportunities offered within the NHS.

It will provide information about NHS careers, signpost enquires and coordinate staff involvement and presence at local careers and engagement events.

The aim is to ensure Greater Manchester residents can benefit from a coordinated and effective system of careers advice, information and opportunities.

Margot Johnson, Executive Director of Human and Corporate Resources at CMFT said: “This is a great opportunity for the NHS to reach people who want to find out more about all that the NHS does. We are proud to be leading on this innovative partnership and look forward to offering opportunities to inspire and engage our future NHS workforce.”

The Greater Manchester NHS Careers Hub will be hosted, managed and based at CMFT on behalf all NHS organisations in Greater Manchester. Funding has been awarded to CMFT from Health Education North West for at least two years to establish and deliver an effective and equitable careers and engagement service specific to the NHS in Greater Manchester.
