AN award-winning Urmston football club is on the lookout for new members.
AFC Urmston Meadowside is hosting a ‘Girls Football Open Day’ at the club’s home ground of Lees Field on Sunday June 26, from noon and 2pm.
Any girls interesting in football or in joining one of the club’s many girls’ teams are invited to come along and join in.
AFC Urmston Meadowside recently scooped the North West Charter Standard Community Club of the Year award by the FA.
The club prides itself on the development of young boys and girls within the local community, with one of former U9s girls recently signing a professional contract with Manchester City Ladies.
The invitation is open to girls currently in school years 3,4,5,6,7,8 and 9. Events will include five-a-side, penalty kick competitions and ball skills.
