A HALE teenager has the best 18th birthday present that he could wish for – a vote in the EU referendum.

Oliver Kingsley turns 18 tomorrow and is heading straight to the polling station from the exam hall, after sitting his final A-level exam.

He currently attends The Manchester Grammar School where he is Deputy Head Boy.

“I can’t quite believe that David Cameron choose my 18th birthday to hold the referendum to determine our future, he must have got my letter,” he said.

“With my lifelong interest in politics, this is probably one of the best presents that I could have wished for. I am looking forward to attending the polling station to make my very first vote, a right that I am proud to have and feel that everyone should use.”

Oliver has been offered a year’s placement working within the Conservative Party HQ, where he is hoping to gain further insight into the daily workings of the political arena before he goes on to study Anthropology at Durham University.
