TRIBUTES have been paid to a 25-year-old who died after a collision in West Timperley.

Helena Thurm, from the Atrincham area, was involved with a collision with a Vauxhall Astra in Manchester Road at 6.10pm on Monday.

She was taken to hospital with serious head injuries and sadly died yesterday.

Her family have paid tribute to her: "Helena was a beautiful, kind, caring, intelligent and funny person who was loved by everybody.

“She was well known in the Altrincham area where she worked. Helena liked a challenge and was at the threshold of adult life having finished university. She had been to a job interview on the day of the accident that stole her life.

“Helena will be sadly missed by her Dad Alan, Mum Sandra, both her brothers Stephen and Michael as well as the rest of her family and friends.”

People who knew Helena took to social media to pay tribute to her.

Will Menzies wrote: “What a pleasure and a beautiful person to be in company of. Rest in peace  Helena Thurm never forgotten.”

Yasmin Salek posted: “I cannot believe the devastating news today, Helena you were a lovely girl who could make anyone laugh. Such a gem taken far too soon, my thoughts are with you and your family.”

Police Constable Paul Hailwood from GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: “Our thoughts are with Helena’s family, who have understandably been left devastated following the death of their loved one at such a young age, and we have specially trained officers supporting them.

“We are still establishing the exact circumstances of this collision and are keen to speak to any witnesses or anyone who may have footage from dash-cams.

“We would greatly appreciate the help of the community to piece together the circumstances of the incident."

The incident took place at the junction of Woodcote Road and Park Road, near to the A56 roadworks.
