HOMEFINDER UK, the national mobility scheme for social housing, will be formally launched in the North of England at the Housing Services Conference at Old Trafford on May 26 Ninesh Muthiah will present the scheme to 75 senior managers of housing associations from across the North of England.

Homefinder UK is a national service that allows tenants and homeless households to apply and move to available social housing anywhere across the United Kingdom.

Ninesh said: "If the Government's northern powerhouse concept is to gain any traction then it must be possible for people to move to find available and affordable housing across the north of the country and indeed anywhere across the country.

"Through Homefinder UK we are advertising hundreds of immediately available social housing properties and helping case manage people to move to find work, be closer to family or places of education. "Homefinder UK will help delIver the Government's Right to Move scheme and more importantly fill a gap in the social housing market."

Home Connections is delivering Homefinder UK in partnership with House Exchange on a not-for-profit basis.

Homefinder UK is open to social tenants of participating landlords and to households they have placed in temporary accommodation. Homefinder UK works in partnership with a number of social landlords who are looking to advertise their available homes and promotes these properties to households who are looking to move across local authority boundaries on www.homefinderuk.org.
