A TIMPERLEY nursery has every reason to celebrate after receiving the top rating from the education watchdog.

Woodlands Day Nursery and Nursery School has achieved the highest Ofsted rating of Outstanding in all areas.

The nursery, which cares for children up to five years old, is part of the Elmscot Group, an Altrincham-based childcare organisation comprising of four day nurseries and eight School’s Out Clubs.

The Ofsted inspector commented that not only was the Ridgeway Road nursery Outstanding but had ‘maintained it in style’.

The inspector said that our managers and team were exceptionally dedicated, enthusiastic and committed to providing children and their families with the very best early years provision.

“All aspects of teaching are outstanding,” stated the inspector, “Children are active, confident and eager to try new things. They are extremely well prepared for the next stage in their learning and development, including their eventual move to school.”

The inspector said that parents are extremely well informed about their child’s progress and are superbly supported to contribute to their learning.

The inspector added: “Staff provide a highly interesting and inspiring range of activities which is superbly matched to children’s abilities, both indoors and outdoors. Staff are always on hand to skillfully extend and challenge children’s learning and are deeply interested in what children do and ask thoughtful and challenging questions.”

Stacey Child, Woodlands’ Manager, said she was delighted with the outcome.

“Our team have worked exceptionally hard to maintain the outstanding provision here at Woodlands, as the Ofsted bar keeps rising,” she said.

“However we owe it to our parents to offer the best early years childcare and education, and this is what we continually strive to do. I’d like to thank our team for all of their commitment to Woodlands and the Elmscot Group.”
