ASHTON-on-Mersey restaurant the Fat Loaf hosted a charity breakfast for Sale-based charity, Made With Hope.

The staff served a full English breakfast for £10 per person and donated all the money to Made With Hope.

More than 50 people attended the breakfast on January 30 and the total raised was £535, which will go towards building a secondary school in Tanzania, Africa.

Made with Hope was set up by Sale resident Eleanor Riley to help children living in poverty in Africa.

Eleanor said: "Generosity like the Fat Loaf showed will help to build this school and we are so grateful to them. This is a great example of a business being socially responsible."

She added: "A secondary school is critically needed in the local rural villages for the local students to break the cycle of poverty they are trapped in.

"It will not only provide the 400 primary school students with an amazing education, it can also protect the girls from forced marriages, early pregnancy, and a life of hardship.

"They will be given a chance to extend their education, all they need is the opportunity to do this."

This was the Fat Loaf's fourth charity breakfast in two years for a number of different charities.
