A SALE pub is flush with success after bowling over judges at the Loo of the Year Awards 2015.

The hard work of staff at The J.P. Joule has certainly not gone down the down the drain as the Northenden Road pub has just been awarded a platinum star rating– the highest award possible.

Authorised inspectors make unannounced visits to hundreds of toilets at sites across the UK and the plush lavatories at The J.P. Joule won over the judges.

Manager Craig Walker said: “I am delighted with the award. Staff at the pub ensure the toilets are in first-class condition at all times and it is great that this has been recognised by inspectors.”

The toilets are judged on numerous criteria, including décor and maintenance, cleanliness, accessibility, handwashing and drying equipment and management.

All toilets that make the grade are rated from bronze to gold, with the platinum rating only given to ‘exceptional toilets’.

Mike Bone, the Loo of the Year Awards managing director, said: “The toilets at The J.P. Joule have been designed and fitted out to a very high standard and are both clean and well maintained. The pub richly deserves its platinum award – the highest individual award the judges can deliver.”
