THIEVES stole thousands of pounds worth of merchandise after ‘brazenly’ smashing their way into a Sale shop in full view of passers-by.

The burglary happened at the Ducati store on Washway Road at around 7pm on Halloween night (Saturday October 31) and police have now released CCTV images in a bid to track the thieves down.

The four burglars parked outside of the shop front in a white Ford Transit van and a dark coloured BMW.

They smashed through the glass front door to gain entry and stole a large quantity of clothes, which they put into the back of the van.

The two vehicles then fled the scene, turning around in the middle of Washway Road and heading towards the M60 Stretford Junction.

The thieves, all believed to be men, wore dark clothing and face coverings during the burglary.

Detective Constable Emma Bentley, based at Altrincham police station, said: “These four individuals brazenly pulled up outside of the shop and smashed their way inside, in full view of passers-by.

“We have released some CCTV images of the burglary taking place and are appealing for any witnesses, or anyone with information about those responsible, to please come forward and speak to us.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact police at Altrincham police station on 0161 856 7530 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
