AN ALTRINCHAM businesswoman will be donning her walking boots and trekking to the summit of the highest peak in North Africa, in memory of her daughter.

Danielle Jones will be heading to to the summit of Mount Toubkal to raise money for the Children's Adventure Farm Trust (CAFT) in tribute to daughter Hannah.

Hannah died at the age of 14 in 2012 from carbon monoxide poisoning on a camping trip. The devastating accident happened after a used barbecue was left inside the porch of her tent.

Danielle will be joined by her husband Phil and two sisters, Andrea Mansfield and Lesley Evans, aiming to raise at least £6000 for CAFT.

They will set off on October 7 for the gruelling five-day Mount Toubkal trek for Cheshire-based CAFT with 16 other fundraisers.

Danielle is being supported by her company, Altrincham-based AddPeople, where she is a marketing communications executive.

Add People has been raising money for CAFT for the past five years and has already pledged more than £40,000 to the life changing charity that provides holidays and day trips for disabled, disadvantaged and terminally ill children.

Danielle is no novice to this kind of challenge as she also completed the Costa Rica coast to coast bike ride for CAFT along with colleagues Nick Gardner, Grant Barton and Julie Barton in 2013.

Danielle, from Wilmslow, said: “We are all strong willed and determined and together we can do anything especially with Hannah spurring us on.”

Danielle said CAFT meant a great deal as it was a charity that Hannah had supported, including raising money for it at her school non-uniform day.

Danielle said: "She was a lovely, amazing, loving and funny teenager who had a great group of close friends.

"We miss Hannah terribly every single day but knowing that we are helping others in her memory brings us comfort and a will and drive to carry on.”

Danielle and her team have already raised nearly £3000 for CAFT in the run-up to the challenge and are holding a charity race night and duck race  at 7pm on October 3 at the Railway pub in Handforth.
