YOUNGSTERS proved they were model citizens after organising fundraising family fun days across Sale.
Two groups of children across town were busy completing their National Citizen Service – a summer based programme that challenges 15 to 17-year-olds to make a positive impact on their communities.
A raffle, quiz, bingo and temporary tattoos parlour were among features of the event at St Mary Magdalene Church, which raised £300 for Heather Day Care, the Salford Foundation and Stockdales Disability, where another group of youngsters were busy raising cash.
Spokesman for the group, Cesaire Stephens, said: “We would like to say a massive thank you to all that attended and made our day a rousing success.”
The group are now hoping to a small flower garden at the front of the church using pots specially painted on the day.
