COMMUNITY groups in Trafford are being encouraged to bid for a share of a £10,000 cash pot, launched for the second time by Contour Homes.

It is now launching Cash for Communities for the second year running, with the aim of helping even more residents to run projects that make their neighbourhoods better places to live.

Director of neighbourhood services Andrew Brown said: “We were delighted with the success of last year’s Cash for Communities scheme and are really excited to be running it again this year. We know there are lots of groups out there doing amazing work and making a real difference."

Sums of between £500 and £2,000 will be awarded to groups whose activities support one or more of four themes drawn up by Contour Homes:

• job, training and enterprise opportunities

• community spaces, health initiatives or community sports projects

• activities for young people

• helping people to get online and/or make their money go further.

Application forms are available from contourhomes.co.uk or by emailing communityinvestmentteam@contourhomes.co.uk.

The first deadline for applications is August 17.
