THERE are only two weeks to go until the closing date for this year’s Altrincham and Sale Chamber of Commerce Business Awards - and already the judges have received some very high quality entries.

The categories are still open for entries. Businesses can nominate themselves, clients, customers or suppliers.

Nominations can be done online at www.altrinchamchamber.co.uk; sent by post to Anne Jardine at the Chamber office, 17 Regent Road, Altrincham WA14 1RY; or emailed to anne@altrinchamchamber.co.uk .

There are 10 categories for businesses to enter: Small Business of the Year, Sponsored by Slater Heelis, Start Up Business of the Year, Sponsored by Sale & Altrincham Messenger; Retailer of the Year, Sponsored by Blackstone Solicitors; Property Team of the Year, Sponsored by Bridging Finance; Young Apprentice of the Year, Sponsored by Trafford College; Provider of Professional Services, Sponsored by Homes4U; Leisure & Tourism, Sponsored by Turkish Airlines; Charity of the Year, Sponsored by MLP Law; Business of the Year, Sponsored by Trafford Council; Employee of the Year, Sponsored by Colemans ctts.

The entries will be assessed by the judging panel which is made up of six key business leaders and opinion formers from the Altrincham and Sale area. They are Zee Hussain, president of Altrincham and Sale Chamber of Commerce; Sue Aldridge, CEO of Altrincham and Sale Chamber of Commerce; Tony Collier, chairman of the chamber; Joan Scott, assistant principal of Trafford College; Michael Crutchley, editor of the Sale and Altrincham Messenger.

The awards night will take place on October 15 at the Cresta Court Hotel in Altrincham, hosted by BBC TV’s Gordon Burns and sponsored by Turkish Airlines.
